My name is Katy Hammond. I grew up in Stafford, located in the Midlands. I have danced since the age of 3 and moved to London to pursue a career in dance at the age of 18. I am a qualified teacher, delivering to KS1, 2, 3 & 4. Upon graduating from University (2011) I have danced professionally whilst sill teaching. Some career highlights are dancing for Puma, ASOS, Adidas, at the 2012 Olympics and at The MOBO Awards. I discovered that I had a real passion for teaching and created Rhythm State Academy in 2014. Something I feel missing within other dance schools and teachers is the recognition that dancing and teaching are two separate distinct skills. That is what makes Rhythm State Academy different from others in dance education; we recognise dancing and teaching as two separate skills but understand both are equally as important to maximise potential in students. Our teachers are carefully selected and take part in teacher training sessions throughout the year, bringing high quality dance to education.
